French Music Concert at St. John's College

Acclaimed cellist and former member of France’s Lyon National Opera Orchestra, Francois Regis Chanon, and St. John’s College junior, Eric Fricke, will perform “French Music for Cello and Piano” at St. John’s College. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held in the Great Hall on Saturday, November 3 at 3 p.m.
Chanon is a graduate from the Juilliard School of Music as a student of American cellist and pedagogue Leonard Rose. He was born in Burgundy, France into a large family of musicians, which also includes a violin maker and an organ builder. Tenured professor of cello and director of orchestras in France at Ecole Nationale de Musique, Chanon presently resides in southern Florida and performs with the Palm Beach Opera and Symphony Orchestras.
Fricke is the protégé of renowned organist Cameron Carpenter and has been featured on National Public Radio’s “From the Top” and TED Talks.
