Lecture at St. John’s on Montaigne

Professor Colin Dickson will give his lecture, “Michel de Montaigne's Singular Essays: The Man, the Book,the Legacy” at St. John’s College. The lecture is free and open to the public and will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on February 24at 8:15 p.m.
Dickson is a professor of French, emeritus at Washington College. He received his bachelor of arts from Amherst College, and his master of science, master of arts, and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. His areas of research include the history and style of the essay genre in French, American, and world literature, and the use of metaphors in modern thought and literary expression, with a specific focus on Michel de Montaigne.
