Silent Auction Rules and Instructions
The art in The Art of the Book exhibition will be sold by auction to benefit the Mitchell Gallery’s education programs, including gallery talks, lectures, family programs, school field trips, hands-on workshops, and more.
The Art of the Book auction is a blind, silent auction. Bidders place their best bid without seeing the bids of others. Bids are placed in sealed boxes that will not be opened until the auction ends on June 25, at 9:00 p.m. The auction will take place in The Mitchell Gallery and online at the St. John’s College web site. The bids of those who participate online will be confidential.
Items will be sold to the highest bidder. St. John’s College will have the sole and final discretion to determine the highest bidder.
If bids do not meet an item’s minimum bid, that item may be withdrawn from sale.
All sales are final. There can be no exchanges or refunds on auction items. Everything will be sold “as is.” Please read carefully any specifications or limitations. By purchasing, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either St. John’s College or the donor of the property or services, and neither the college nor the donor is responsible for any personal injury or damages to property that may result from the utilization of property or services sold.
All copyrights and all rights to reproduction of auction items remain the property of the artist.
