Visit Programs

Day Visits

Weekday tours. After a 15-minute overview from an admissions counselor, a current student gives a one-hour tour of the campus. The tour program begins at 8:45am and 12:45pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Class observations. When classes are in session, visitors have the option of observing a 10:20am or 2:20pm tutorial (mathematics, language, or music) following their tours. We recommend that all visitors take advantage of this opportunity whenever possible, to get a fuller idea of the St. John’s experience.

Conversations. We hope that your tour and your class visit stimulate more questions about the college. Your admissions counselor or another member of the admissions staff will look forward to debriefing you, and talking with you about all aspects of the college.

Interviews. Another option for prospective students is an informal admissions interview.

Saturday tours. Once a month we offer a student-led campus tour at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by an information session with an admissions counselor and lunch in the dining hall.

Overnight Visits

To see as much of the college as possible, consider an overnight stay. It's a 24-hour immersion into the community. You will stay in a dormitory room and have meals in the campus dining hall. Student guides will show you the campus and introduce you to tutors and students, and you'll have plenty of time to explore on your own and have impromptu conversations with a variety of people.

Overnight visits are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays throughout the academic year.
